Here in the Auburn-Opelika area of Alabama, we take our football seriously, enjoy our southern known food, and treat everyone like family. These two little towns merge together to form the proud home for Auburn University, the Chewacla State Park, and the well known Robert Trent Jones Trail. But wait, there is more! Auburn-Opelika is conveniently located near Atlanta, Birmingham, and Montgomery so you also do not have to miss out on that “city-lovin” that you may crave from time to time. We are sure that you will love this ever-expanding college town that is filled with tiger (and eagle) spirit! After looking through multiple sources, we have gathered some of the top attractions in this area:
In the 10th largest stadium in the U.S., this is the place where the tigers roam and the eagles fly! The stadium was opened in 1939 and now has a maximum capacity of 87,451 seats. With natural grass and an open stadium, you will wish the games would not end! There has been a recent addition to the stadium that you may have heard about. To the left, you can see this HUGE addition: the JUMBO screen. $13.9 million dollars later, Auburn’s stadium is now equipped with a scoreboard that is 435% bigger than it’s previous one. Now, there is not a single bad seat in the house thanks to the broadcasting through this screen.
